Manage Process Instances

Powerful process instance search and worklist item management

BlueWave product boxes

BlueWave streamlines administrative interactions with worklists and process instances, allowing you to focus on quality.

The powerful search features, just-in-time impersonation of users, savable process start and action scenarios, bulk administration, and many other features make your life a cinch, whether the task occurs during initial development, testing or support.

Apart from the management worklist, BlueWave also includes a process instance worklist which is particularly useful for finding process instances which have been closed, or are in an error state.

Automatic User, Group and Role Impersonation

As an administrative tool, the management worklist retrieves workitems regardless of the user or group assigned to it. BlueWave shows each destination for the workitems, whether it's directly assigned to users, or if it's a user group or K2 role.

BlueWave not only allows developers and administrators to easily find workitems without logging in as multiple users, but also allows them to impersonate the relevant users on demand, and action these items on their behalf. This is a particularly useful capability for administration, as well as during testing of complicated process routing scenarios.

More information ▾

The resolving of groups and roles and impersonating the relevant user happens at the last possible moment, typically just before an action is issued. This allows a BlueWave user to work with multiple workitems without needing to manually log in as a specific user, or to even switch profiles.

Example search filter fields

Easy To Use Filtering

Filter out unwanted process instances and worklist items, with numerous user customisable filters. User customised filters are automatically saved for easy reusability. Search by preloaded process names, without guessing or find completed process instances using K2 DataFields.

As with most features in BlueWave, the filters are designed to be be available and quick to use when you need them, and to get out of the way when they are not needed.

Right-Click Context Menus

Simply right click on a worklist item to perform actions. Redirect, Release, Action, Update Data Fields or even execute a previously recorded scenario for rapid testing.

More information ▾

The right-click menus in BlueWave are context-aware, and will only show actions which make sense for the user's current selection. As an example, when multiple workitems are selected and right-clicked, a restricted set of actions is shown. The option to trigger a "bulk goto" will be determined by whether all selected workitems are of the same process.

Advanced Goto Activity Feature

Re-route work items to a specific activity by selecting an activity from a visual list. The advanced Goto Activity enables quick and error free re-routing work items.

More information ▾

Selecting the target activity from a list is generally faster than typing it by hand, and also ensures that the selected activity exists in the specific version of the process the workitem is running.

Step Through Your Processes

Action any K2 work item directly from the worklist. Edit DataFields or Folio and save your scripted changes for later reuse. Test the integrity of your K2 Workflow processes without having to develop the screens first by stepping through the process in BlueWave.

By streamlining worklist-related activities, BlueWave enables you to test your processes more quickly and more thoroughly than was practical before.
